You can dye it any color you want, you're results will be slightly lighter than the box shows since your hair isn't darker, but it'll get it pretty close. BUT you should also think about what will look good with your skintone. Too dark could make you look WAY washed out or yellowish. Longer??? Well you either have to wait for it to grow or shell out some megga $$$$ in order to get extentions, which I can look HORRIBLE if not done right!

I need something different, I have had my long, no bangs, blonde hair forever. I really like the thought of red/auburn/brown streaks, but I'm not sure if they would look good. I cannot find a good picture to print out to show my hair dresser. I have blonde hair now with brown underneath and I want to kinda even it out with partical brown lowlights. i woud recomend going to makeoversolutions.com it is a great website that allows you to upload one picture of you and you can virtually see different hair styles. its great i used it, printed it out and i took it to my hair dresser. also you can c earings blush make up n alot more stuff. the free demo only allows one picture and is restricted in some hairstyles and other places. try it i recommend it.

NO! do not dye your hair, you need to show the people who call you a DB that you are smart. you need to tell them "i am not dumb, just because some blond's are dumb doesn't mean all blondes are, would you like it if i called you a dumb brunette or a dumb redhead!?" if your friends were real friends they would not call you a dumb blonde, i know plenty of blondes who would start a fight (like yelling and not being friends) if someone called them dumb. my blonde friends proove to everybody that they are not dumb.

Make sure that when you use the bleach you leave it on long enough. Your hair will turn orange then yellow before it turns white. Use a violet based toner to achieve a platinum color.

Of course, these are just general guidelines... for all I know your hair is in no condition to be lightened.

Also, in response to another answer you got... there's no such thing as "less permanent" platinum color.

I used to bleach my hair and use a toner afterwards before dying my hair 'strange' colors when I was a teenager.

I used Manic Panic's bleach kits. It comes in 2 different 'strengths', 30 volume or 40. Since I have dark brown hair, I used 40 volume, but you said you're blonde, I'd use 30 volume if I were you.

The kits come with instructions, and they're easy to follow as long as you have someone to help you.

After bleaching, I used either Manic Panic Virgin Snow white toner/mixer or Special Effects toner to make my hair white/platinum blonde.

It damages your hair like you won't believe, so try not to wash your hair often (every 3-4 days is good) so your hair/scalp's natural oils moisturize your hair.

Beyond the Zone Radical bleach kit. it can be used on or off the scalp. i have medium to dark brown hair. i let it sit for about 45 minutes, checking it every 15 minutes. after that i mixed another batch and let it sit for another 30 minutes. instead of toner, i use Fanci-full leave in hair rinse in Ultra White Minx.

pick up a bottle of Shimmer Lights purple shampoo and you'll be all set.
