Can brunette hair be dyed all over blonde without looking brassy?

I have always had blonde hair and dyed it brunette to see if I liked it on me.....I don't and want to go back. But can I? What do you suggest I do. I don't really like highlights for the fall/winter months.

If your natural color is blond, you could use a hair dye remover. You can get these in drug stores if you are doing it yourself. I would not just try to dye it back to blond, unless you know what base the original color was, and you know how the color wheel works. You could end up with green hair if you just randomly pick colors. If you want to experiement with hair colors, next time try a temporary rinse, it will only last for a few weeks. Good luck! I have been a hairdresser for 22 years.

i got my black hair stripped and got it back to brown. now i dont know if the same goes for brown though. stripping is very unhealthy for your hair too.

it would probably be best to go to a professional colorist at a salon to help prevent getting a brassy color, or actually i think there are some specific hair dyes at local drug stores that claim they wont cause the brassiness...good luck! :D

I would go to a salon and get them to color it back to blonde. If you do it at home it will most likely go brassy on you. But it can be done. Just make sure that you use a high quality shampoo and conditioner. I recommend Sunsilk HydraTLC. Totally saved my hair.

It can if you are naturally brunette, but it would be risky to try to lighten dyed hair.

I think you'll need to visit a salon, because they'll need to strip the color out of your hair.

defiantly wait a while, but there is this new stuff I jsut found that you can use that stops brassiness. I cant remember what its called, though.

You can go back but you have to wait a while so you won't over process and make your hair fall out, if you wash your hair every day try deep conditioning to get the hair back in shape.

ok, I'm a cosmetology student at Toni %26amp; Guy...when lightening your hair it has to lift through underlying pigment levels which usually tend to be red-orange, orange, orange-yellow, and yellow which means your hair is going to be an ugly brassy colour...i definitely advise you get it done professionaly not at home with wal-mart bleach...PLEASE!!! a pro stylist can ensure that ur end result with not be ugly...however, it might take a couple visits to the salon to get exactly what you want because lightening hair from a brown to blonde is very damaging...remember, you get what you pay for

You can yes I did but if you just dyed your hair brown youmight want to wait a little while but I suggest you go to a salon because most of the blonde hair dyes at the store are not that good if your not blonde to begin with
