Can I be Platinum Blonde...and still have healthy hair?

I have wavy mousey brownish blonde hair that is sort of fragile. What's the best way to go about being platinum blonde?

It takes a lot of bleach to reach Platinum, which is REALLY bad for your hair. If it is already fragile, don't do it! You dont want your hair to get brittle and break off. Plus, Platinum blond doesn't look good on most people. You should try a less extreme color of blonde, or hey, even try a pretty brown... Chestnut brown, Chocolate... Just make sure it's something you enjoy, because dying your hair over and over is not good!

If you already have fragile hair you really DON"T want to lighten it all over...try some platinum blond highlights...see how your hair handles it first. Also, get it done professionally..have the stylist use color....NOT a bleach. It's much easier on the hair.( you can only use color to lighten if you have NO color on your hair already)Framesi makes a really great color...its loaded with conditioners and leaves your hair soft and shiny.

Yes, but have a professional do it, I did it myself and also over did it and now I am paying the price. My hair started breaking off and some fell out, so I am now letting my hair grow out, I am half and half, about 5 inches of the entire top of my head is new brown hair but my pony tail is bright platinum blonde, how ugly is that!! I could always color the pony tail brown, but I want to know when all the bad hair is gone and if I color it all brown, I won't be able to tell where the new good hair ends and the old hair begins. Slowly as my hair grows out I cut another inch off that darn nasty pony tail!

Use hennas to dye your hair, they are better for it than bleach. When you do, I recommend New! (Hair) shampoo from Lush (http://lush.com) which can help keep your hair shiny and healthy, regardless of the goop you put in it.

But first: Are you sure you want to be a blond? Your hair sounds very beautiful, and it will be a big change!

My friend did it for me at home and my hair turned out great, exactly the color I wanted and no damage. I had golden brown to begin with and went straight to platinum. I can't remember the exact brand of hair color we used, but I think it was Clairol.

Yes you sure can I'm platinum blond i get mine done at a salon i used to work for, the best bleach to use it palatine, that's the use on me, don't have a full head or you will get a really bad re-growth, have "easy mesh" in stead of a cap it more expensive but gets very close to the roots, best type to have it lots of H/L but fine so it look natural but very platinum

Don't but if you want to go lighter, highlight it.

i agree with the first answer. if it is already fragile going lighter is NOT the answer right now. it'll make your hair more damaged. you need to repair your hair before even thinking about going lighter. go to a salon and see what a hair stylist suggests to use to repair your hair. or go to sally's beauty supply store.

Go to a professional, and see what they recommend; they know alot more about hair than we think we do!

No. If you bleach your hair blond it will either fall out to thin coating. Or you will be wasting ur money on getting root touch up. It will also Fri your hair.

your hair color is already pretty, why do you wanna change it. After dying hair and changing hair color, you're hair will never remain as healthy as it once were. Why not cange your hair style, ar try some other makeup, and you can also change your style of clothing, this always works to help you turn out to be prettier.

Sure you can but I'd let a professional do it. If you do it yourself, you may end up ruining your hair.
