It is just the trend for now. It comes and goes. Right now, no it is not "in". The natural look is more in style for now. I used to have that look but have changed it to add some highlights and lowlights now. My mom keeps her hair platinum and it looks great on her, but her hair is very short and she is 65 too. However, it is your head and if you like it, do what you want to do with it. But if you are concerned about the latest fashions, get with a good stylist for some color work.

Yes, if you have brown eyes and regular skin, it looks totally fake. I think everyone ought to keep their natural color. Mine's a natural golden tinted color. Christina Aguilera can get her whitish-blond hair and pass with it because of her naturally baby blue eyes and beautiful tan skin.

In salon we call this color "Prada Blond" because it is very expensive and high maintenance. If you have it done well and maintain it properly then more power to you. Unfortunately a lot of woman attempt this at home! They never really achieve the "platinum" and of course they don't keep up on the regrowth. Tacky! Best of luck.
