I wouldn't do that if I were you. You won't end up with blonde hair. I used peroxide on my naturally dark brown hair, and not only did it ruin the texture of my hair, but it went to a reddish-orange color. Since your hair is purple, it'll probably end up some weird light pinkish red color.

Its very hard to go from a dark colour to a lighter one. You can always go darker shades easily enough but not the other way round i'm afraid. In order to go more than a shade or two lighter your best bet would be bleach depending on what type of dye you have on your hair just now.
