I'm a 14 year old lad and I'm fed up with my boring image, so I want my hair shortened and dyed bleach-blonde. My mom isn't keen, so has anyone got any information to support my side of the argument? How long it lasts, what you have to do etc.

I agree with your Mum. Bleach blonde hair is very damaging and requires a lot of upkeep to keep it from turning brassy and to keep the roots covered. Why dont you have her take you a salon and tell them that your are looking for an image changing cut and see what they recommend.

use peroxide. Its really good but you might need to use it every 2 to 3 week on the roots

Don't do it! Depending on your natural hair colour it will probably look quite tacky and at worse a brassy gold/blond if you are naturally dark. Roots will appear quickly so you would then have to keep it up or dye over the top which never quite looks the same.

Try this. Go to a trendy hairdresser who sounds intersted when you ask for advice. If they don't give you time, try another one. Explain that you want something new, fresh and trendy. It's surprising how much difference a good cut makes, especially getting rid of a long fringe which is bad for skin which is oily.

If you must have colour ask for low lights if your hair is dark as you will not notice them growing out.

There is a temporary product called color pulse by loreal. It washes out in 8-10 washings. It is very cheap, like around $3.00 at Walmart. The temporary part is how I got my mom to let me use it. With cutting your hair, just say it will grow back eventually. Good Luck!

if your hair is brown or darker...your hair will probably turn a yellow-y colour so take care..get a professional to do it

why dont you just have a few hi-lights put in instead - not so drastic. full head of bleach will take lots of maintenance..root re-growth - %26amp; thats a real pain!!

blonde hair is a night mare to maintan i need my roots doin every 4 weeks at 鎷?0 each time it can go brassy (yellow) it dries your hair out so you need lot of hair products but on the plus side its sexy colour ....ps... i no my hairs brown in pic but my hairs been dyed blonde since that was taken. good luck getting your mum on your side!
