Also fake blonde hair is hard to maintane because we turn green, greys are easy to see, and the roots come out easily. Trust me i know someone brown too. I have black hair and colored it blond for a couple of years. The best way I have found was to go to a salon because your hair will come out completely blond. When you use store color, it will take about 2 or 3 applications. You also have to wait a week or two in between colors, or else you will fry your hair out and it will literally come out. If you decide to go that route, buy hair oil treatments and great conditioner and use it until your next color. One hair color product is just as good as another, so buy the cheapest. i am a profesional hairdresser and the best advice i can give you is go to a salon but DO NOT go into a salon telling your hairdresser which peroxide or colour to use. just tell her/him what outcome you would like and ask if it is possible. pick a salon which is popular and by that i mean one that is known through word and mouth, dont think the more expensive it is the better it will be, you normally only get charged extra for the salon to look posh. if you do go ahead and do it yourself i can guarantee the outcome will be orange and the only solution would be to dye your hair back to dark brown and your hair could possibly be to damaged then to put your hi lites back through.
