Go see a pro. Don't try it yourself. If you hair is dark it can go orange. But the pro can help you soooo much. Not too much I can do without seeing, touching your do! Good luck! xx

You really need to go to a professional. You absolutely can not get the perfect blonde from a box at walmart. You will spend at least 60 to 80 dollars. You then will have to maintain it. and have your roots done every 2 monthes or so. You need to first decide if you can afford to do it right or don't do it at all. I am saying that because I have ruined my hair before and had to pay big money to a certified color correctionist. If you have very dark hair originally I suggest requesting Foil Highlights. It will look more natural. They will have to use a bleaching agent that has a blue base. so don't freak out when you see the blue color. that just means it will prevent your hair from turning orange. Good Luck sweetheart.

go to a professional. believe me. it is money well spent...but go up to someone with good hair that has been colored and ask her who she goes to first.....good ones are so hard to find.....avoid the mall...they tend to be expensive and not that good for the money.

Alright-- frst a disclaimer... i'm not gay. I just know the answer to this cause my fiance is in cosmetology school. The thing about bleached hair sometimes turning orange is that if you have any sort of red tint to your hair, the bleach will take it and that's what turns the hair orange. Bleach will work if used carefully, and with the proper developer. Some brands of bleaching products do not work without that same brand of developer. It's always best to get it professionally done, if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg going to a cosmetology school to get it done is always an option.

Depending on the original color of your hair, when bleaching hair it has to go thru stages of lightness. For example, if your hair is originally dark brown and you bleach it, it would go from dark brown to red, then orange.

Below is something I got from a web site%26gt;

have to use the most powerful bleaching chemicals available. They would certainly damage her hair to a marked extent. It would be less damaging to carry out the process in several stages - up to a dozen, perhaps. During that time her hair would change from black to red, and then lighten gradually from red to orange, orange to yellow, and finally from yellow to white. Some of the stages might well have to be repeated.

The stylist might decide that a three-step or five-step programme would be possible, changing first from black to red, then from red to yellow, and finally to white. What has to be considered before any final decision is taken is how to keep damage to the cuticle to a minimum, and above all what will be the final effect of the programme on the quality of the hair.

If a person's hair turns orange, it means that it hasn't been bleached enough

bleaching your hair destroys the color molecules inside your hair (think of when you bleach clothes-you bleach black or dark you get orange and yellows and so one, you bleach a yellow shirt it goes white) the orange is just a leel of discoloration your ahir goes through, not everyone who bleaches turns orange. If you have dark hair it will go through an orange stage, you bleach beyond that to get to a satisfacory yellow where a toner will even out the tones and give a nice ash or golden blonde. (if someone had black hair and wanted say a red they should only bleach until they get to an orangey color, so you only bleach until you reach the stage you want not always to a pale yellow or straw color)

Ashley Tisdale has naturally light hair, if she wants it lighter it is not going to go through an orange stage when she uses bleach. Chances are she don't even use bleach, jsut a regular permanent blonde color that is lighter than her hair (permanent color has the ability to lift, just not a whole lot).

If you have dark hair go to a stylist to get your hair lightened, home bleaching is ALWAYS asking for trouble because you can not apply it evenly, or judge the discoloration properly.

Bleaching when done proper won't 'fry' your hair either, this happens when you use too high of a volume bleach, the hairs condition is already poor or you leave the bleach in too long, under heat when it is bleach not meant for that or under too much heat/too long under heat for those brands that do require heat.
